The Grand Light string gauge, very popular with Taylor guitar owners, is now available from Cleartone in a high end treated Phosphor Bronze acoustic set. Aside from Elixir’s HD Light set, there really aren’t many other options out there for a similar set, and since many popular Taylor models work best with the 13-53 set, there are so few places to turn when those strings eventually wear out. Though you don’t have to have a Taylor to enjoy the greatness of Grand Light strings as they work well on just about any acoustic, and you will notice the difference as they are balanced slightly differently than our other sets of strings.
The new Grand Light strings have a uniquely balanced voice as it uses the wound phosphor bronze strings from our Light set for a warm tone that stress less on your fingers, while using the plain steel strings sizes from our Medium set to give you more high-end output and clarity. It all comes together in seamless fashion as we use the wound D from our Custom Light set to create a very pleasing well-rounded sound overall.
